Today we discussed about different types of hand held objects and their grips. Moving on with this topic we added how these basic objects – like a pen, comb, etc. are a challenge for handicapped / disabled people. They too deserve to use such basic products. Hence we had to think of 1 such product and modify it in such a manner that it becomes easier for them to use without any one’s help.
I came up with the idea of a electric nail cutter. It would look like a normal nail cutter but would have a case in front with sensors which would scan the finger and nail shape and then cut it automatically. This cutter could work for toe nails as well and would be battery powered.
Our next assignment was drawing hand held objects from our bags in a certain time limit.
- 3 mins- Insane mode
- 30 sec to 20 sec- Ludicrous mode
- 15 sec to 5 sec- Bat Shit Crazy mode
Post this assignment when we saw all our sketches we realized that when we were drawing in 3 minutes we were adding small small details but when we drew in 10 seconds we were just trying to get the form right. Both the products looked alike. That’s when we concluded that a basic sketch can be done very quickly to give a brief idea of the product.
