At the end of the previous class, Ma’am had asked us to carry flowers and different kinds of leaves for nature drawing to be done in this class.
We observed the leaves and their shape, texture and form – to identify which form of sketching will be suitable the most. To bring out the character the most, we placed the leaf on a white sheet to get the tones and greyscale right.
I sketched leaves and flowers so as to get my basics right and as close as to the original. Sketching the back side of the leaf was advisable by ma’am because the veins are protuding on that side better. We kept improvising it in small small ways and learnt a lot about sketching and rendering.
