Unfortunately I could not attend this lecture due to severe chest infections. Hence i took notes from a friend.
In this lecture we discussed the 5 narratives we had written for our next assignment. Out of these 5 we picked our top 3 after discussing with the faculty.
We then discussed about Raghmala and Pichwari. Here are key words of what we discussed in class-
Raghmala:
- Raghs and music tones
- Indirectly emphasized on the seasons; on cyclic forms of time
Time can be linear and cyclic. Linear time is normal time, the hour hand, etc. Cyclic time is spiral, goes on and on, the seasons and occurrence of day and night are cyclic in nature. We follow cyclic form of time. Our body clock work on the cyclic nature of time.
Pichwari:
- Shree Nath ji temple
- painting would change with respect to time
- seasons, eg: when monsoon arrives, we see more peacocks.
Time is also shown through zodiac time. Astrology is related to planets, seasons, and is also recorded
