In class today I worked on the cover page and back page for the coffee table book. For Objects as history my objects were head gears and hence I wanted to depict that through my cover itself.
The book basically captures types of head dresses worn in different civilizations, materials used to create these head dresses and how they affected the hair styles of that period.
Below is my inspiration board that i created using images from the internet, just to get an idea of what I plan on finally creating.

I took a test print of both of the above just to understand what colors stand out and what the image quality is like.
Later when i discussed with ma’am she gave me a few tips – creating my own background, editing the lady to focus on the head gear.
REFLECTIONS –
- I learnt the importance of taking test prints – they help you understand the quality, alignment and other small factors that you tend to miss out on the screen.
- I had used alot of elements and colors in my cover page which made it a little distracting.
- And it also gave me a fair idea of what elements i want to focus on for my final piece.
